Corningleague.com is the website for the Corning Area Tavern League (CATL). The CATL was established in 1996 by Rick Stirpe as a traveling 8-ball pool league playing in and around the Corning, NY area. Over the years, the league has been sanctioned by the BCA, ACS and the BCAPL. In 2011, Rick Stirpe was named ACS League Operator of The Year. Currently, the CATL is no longer a sanctioned league.
The CATL utilizes a unique team handicap system that levels the playing field for all skill levels. All teams are paid from a handicap and scratch prize pool according to their standings in each category. Novice players have fun. Experienced players love the competition. Novice players love to learn from the knowledge that the experienced players share.
